Albany, New York group State Champs is back with another LP, three years since their last album release of 'Around The World and Back'. The pop-punk five piece has released 'Living Proof', a 13 track LP that is for sure the album of the Summer. This works out perfectly, as the Champs are gearing up for the final cross-country Vans Warped Tour, beginning June 21 in California.
The first song on the album is "Criminal". It's a great way to start the album; it really compliments what is about to come for the rest of the LP. It is a good mix of those upbeat pop-punk vibes with a more relaxed side throughout.
"Dead and Gone" was the first single released off this album, and from the first listen I knew that the rest of the album would be great. This song is super upbeat, and definitely brings the band back to their roots. The lyrics really resonated with me. It is a song that you'll likely have stuck in your head for days on end.

"Our Time to Go" is another favorite of mine. It is a bit slower, but it fits perfectly for the mood of the song. The lyrics are incredibly powerful, stating "Nothing hurts more than saying I'm fine" leading into the chorus. The ending half of the chorus stuck with me as well. "I don't wanna live this way. Strong enough to break these chains. Broken pieces can mend, not a second to waste. Life won't wait for you now. This is our time, our time to go".
Two other tracks that definitely deserve a mention is "Lightning" and "Mine is Gold".
While this album doesn't give as strong of a pop-punk feel as 'The Finer Things' did back in 2013, this album still is a banger. A definite must listen for pop-punk fans.
